Hady is built to respect your privacy. We collect only what we need to teach you, to give you feedback on your practice, and to keep the app working. We never sell your personal information.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to teach you, to give you feedback on your practice, and to keep the app working:
- Account: your email address, so you can sign in and we can send you a sign-in code.
- Learning progress: the lessons and exercises you complete, your vocabulary and your settings, so your learning is saved and synced across your devices.
- Voice recordings: only when you tap to record yourself, so we can give you pronunciation feedback on that attempt.
- Handwriting images: only when you take a photo of your written answer, so we can read and grade it.
- Feedback you send: anything you submit through the in-app feedback option.
- Basic device and app information: such as app version and general device type, used to keep the app reliable and, in the free version, to show ads.
- How you use the app: which features you use and your approximate country, so we can improve Hady. This is anonymous, not tied to your name, and you can turn it off any time in Profile, then Privacy.
How we use your information
We use this information to run your account, teach the lessons, grade your typed, written and spoken practice, sync your progress across your devices, keep the app stable, and, for the free version, to show ads. We do not use your information to build advertising profiles about you, and we never sell it.
Voice recordings and handwriting images
Recording and photo capture only ever happen when you choose to start them. A short voice clip or a photo of your handwriting is processed to give you feedback on that attempt. It is not kept afterwards for any other purpose, sold, or used for advertising.
Advertising
The free version of Hady shows ads served by a third-party advertising network, which may use a device advertising identifier to deliver and measure ads. We filter ad content to keep it appropriate. Subscribing to Premium removes all ads. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings.
Third party services
To operate Hady we rely on a small number of trusted providers, for example secure cloud hosting and storage, the processing that powers lessons and feedback, authentication, subscription billing through the app store, app delivery, advertising for the free version, and privacy-respecting analytics. These providers process data only on our behalf, under agreements that require them to protect it and not use it for their own purposes.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account and progress while your account is active. You can sign out at any time to stop syncing. You can delete your account and associated data at any time from inside the app, or by contacting us. See Delete your account for step by step instructions.
Children's privacy
Hady is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will change the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
Course source and credit
Hady's lessons are based on Duroos al-Lughah al-Arabiyyah (the Madinah Books) by Dr. V. Abdur Rahim, used with kind permission.
